The Old Mawuli School Union (OMSU) is the official alumni association of Mawuli School in Ho, Ghana, dedicated to sustaining the spirit and values of our alma mater long after graduation. We bring together thousands of past students across the globe, creating a vibrant community for networking, mentorship, professional growth, and lifelong friendship. Guided by the school's enduring motto Head, Heart, Hand OMSU promotes intellectual excellence, compassionate service, and practical action. Through events, fundraising, and volunteer initiatives, we support Mawuli School's continuous development while inspiring each generation to give back and lead with integrity.

Dr. George Ofori-Dwumfuo is a distinguished alumnus of Mawuli School in Ho, Ghana, where he spent seven formative years as a science student. His time at Mawuli helped lay a strong academic and personal foundation that shaped his journey toward excellence in academia, technology, leadership, and entrepreneurship. After graduating from Mawuli School, Dr. Ofori-Dwumfuo pursued higher education at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics with First Class honours in 1976. He later continued his studies in the United Kingdom at Aston University in Birmingham, where he obtained a PhD in Computer Science in 1982. His academic journey also included postdoctoral research at University of Aberdeen, further strengthening his expertise in computing and information technology. Dr. Ofori-Dwumfuo built an impressive academic career internationally. He served as an Assistant Professor at King Saud University in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and later as a Visiting Professor at Syracuse University in the United States, contributing to teaching, research, and the development of computer science education. Upon returning to Ghana, he transitioned into leadership roles across academia, technology, and administration. In academia, he held several senior leadership positions including Dean of IT at Wisconsin International University College, Ghana, Vice Rector of University College of Management Studies, and Head of the IT Department at Methodist University College Ghana. Through these roles, he contributed significantly to the growth of information technology education and institutional development in Ghana. Beyond academia, Dr. Ofori-Dwumfuo has also made notable contributions to business and healthcare. He served as Deputy CEO and Board Member of DEL International Hospital Limited, an institution he helped incorporate in 2011 with colleagues to support improved healthcare delivery and quality of life in Ghana. His entrepreneurial ventures also include initiatives such as All Day Forex Bureau Limited and other trading and import businesses, reflecting his ability to bridge academia, technology, and enterprise. Dr. Ofori-Dwumfuo has remained deeply connected to his alma mater. He served as President of the Old Mawuli School Union (OMSU) during the Mawuli @ 50 celebrations. He later became a Board Member of Mawuli School and he currently serves as an Executive Council Member of OMSU His journey from a young science student at Mawuli School to an international academic, technology leader, entrepreneur, and national contributor stands as a powerful testament to the enduring values of discipline, leadership, and excellence instilled by Mawuli School. Dr. George Ofori-Dwumfuo’s life story reflects the spirit of Mawuli: producing alumni who combine intellectual achievement with service to society.

Hon. Kofi Attor’s journey from Mawuli School to his current stature is a story of dedication, education, and public service. He attended Mawuli School, where he built a strong academic foundation that propelled him through higher education. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Ghana and further advanced his studies with a master's degree in Art and Development Studies from the Institute of Social Studies in The Hague, Netherlands. His education equipped him with the knowledge and skills to serve effectively in various capacities. He entered politics as a member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and was elected to represent the Ho Central constituency in Ghana’s Parliament during the Fourth Republic. He served as a parliamentarian from 1993 until 2005, taking part in critical legislative decisions and governance. Beyond Parliament, Hon. Attor contributed to Ghana’s development through leadership roles such as Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Investment Fund for Electronic Communications (GIFEC), focusing on expanding electronic communication access across Ghana. His expertise also saw him work closely with parliamentary leadership, including advisory roles in the Speaker’s Secretariat, where he continues to influence governance and policy implementation.
